About Power Yoga

"I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free."
-Michelangelo

Regardless of how you look or feel about yourself, your age or level of fitness, power yoga can help you release your inner beauty.  Like Michelangelo releasing the beautiful statue trapped inside the marble, through power yoga, you will slowly peel away physical and emotional layers to reveal your magnificent body and inner grace.  Baron Baptiste with Move Your Hyde owner Missy

The power yoga we teach at our studio is based on
Baron Baptiste's Power Vinyasa Yoga.  All of our classes are hot classes - the studio is heated to 90 degrees (F).  The heat is ideal for shaping and stretching muscles.  You will notice how your body and movements become much more fluid in a heated studio.

Heat also adds another therapeutic element to your workouts - it makes you sweat.  Through sweating, your body releases toxins and excess fluids, lessening the burden on your kidneys and liver.  Your skin gets the workout it needs as well.

At Move Your Hyde Power
Yoga, we believe that each of us has the capacity to become our own greatest teacher.  You don't need to follow a guru to do yoga "right".  What is right depends on your physical body and emotional state.  Every pose taught in the studio can be modified to fit your body shape and fitness level.  As you continue to transform, the postures will evolve and adapt with you.   Practice and all is coming.

We teach a variety of power yoga classes in our studio at different difficulty levels. Visit our Class Info page to learn more. Click Yoga Pictures to see some of the yoga postures taught in our classes,

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

To practice power yoga you will need a yoga mat, to prevent slipping, which can be rented or purchased at the studio or in our Online Store.  You will also want to bring a water bottle and a towel to class.
